How easy would it be to create my own icons and customize the window colors for a Dark theme?

It would be great to be able to Personalize the copy of Launch Pad IDE that we use  ;D

Hey up... Is Menu->Edit->Edit Area Options... what your after?

The toolbar icons are located in the /config folder

If your more so after the main GUI stuff, like the windows and buttons etc etc, that's wxWidgets, and I have never really looked into the personalisation of that, only the main text area... Maybe a thing I can take a peek into the exWidgets documents with a coffee one cold winter night, see what's what! ;) hehehe

That would be great Your IDE is nice and Simple, with respect. It would be nice to totally change the Windows colors for a nice personal touch 8). Many IDE's miss this function.

I find after staring at light screens for ours. I want to scratch my eye's out ::). Im light sensitive.

You don't have to do just because im suggesting. As they are Suggestions. But i think making your IDE personal to one's self is going to make someone happier using it on a permanent basis.

May be a config.txt file were all your personal alteration could be saved and dropped backin to get Setup quickly again.

I miss old things like the RED run rocket for instance.

I get the impretion that your staring out witit. Will you be able to compile BlitzmaxNG with it as well?

Would be great to be able to Select Blitz, Blitz3d or BlitzMaxNG. Just a suggestion.

This is something id like to be able to do. So the Interest.

I'll be 100% honest, I'm not chasing BlitzMax-NG, the whole lot at this moment in time is geared towards the original Blitz side... Take away the 3D/Plus bits, it's all the same syntax, only Mark has geared BlitzCC in Blitz3D towards LibSGD, which Launchpad relies on.

The main problem within all of this is time, I'd love to cover more, but, unfortunately, it's a reach that is too much, and if anything, if I had to pick on a "big leap" elsewhere, it would be Vala with LibSGD bindings... That there is a big job, but I love the Vala language, it's more a dev language on Linux then on Windows.

All in all though, Launchpad has been and is a great project to work on, I've really had fun with it, and LibSGD. Mark asked me if I was going to open source it, but, it's one of them as well... Like one giant crossword, and at this moment in time, it's one of my little things, one of my pastimes of late, and it's no fun when you start a crossword, fill 3/4 of it in, for some bugger to come along and fill it in! :D lol

Maybe one day when I go "Right, I cannot do nothing else with it", but for the foreseeable future... Mine mine mine mine! ;) teehehehe

I totally get it, it's like me with my Emulators! Anyway when you do get to the point of doing nothing else with it and releasing it. Plz think of me Baggey. ;)

Hey @dabz,

I found the folder with all the icons in, and have had a go at modding some.

For some reason i cant get rid of the Alpha Blend. It always shows a square around your image? ie it wont mask out.

Is that something internal?

This is due to my icons being just bog standard bitmaps (.bmp), and to mask an icon on the toolbar, you need a monochrome "bitmask" version of your image, this is pretty much how Windows GDI does it for blitting.

Anyhoo, you can use PNG's with an alpha channel, but currently, the image handler for the toolbar icons is set as BMP, so I'll have to change them to PNG, and then, you should be able to plop an alpha channel in a bitmap image using something like GIMP, save it as a PNG e.g. "cut.png", and, well, jobs a good'un, no more square... This one I'm leaning on more, it's an easy fix and having monochrome bitmask images to do the same job is just SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Windows 95! :D lol

Probably done for the next update me auld fruit!

Cool, Hope to see an update where we have the possibility of changing icons and create our own IDE color theme.

So, I don't have to Stab my eye's out looking at a bright screen!  ;)

Im quite interested in looking into the LibSGD stuff.
